Homemade cha cha (chow chow)
This recipe is determined on how much you want to make. This is how I make my cha cha relish. I don't give much measurements because each is their own. season to your taste. However, I will tell you what you need to get started.
Ingredients:
Green tomatoes
Head of Cabbage
1 Lg Onion
1 Lg Green Pepper
1 Lg Red Pepper
3 sm Jalapenos pepper
Pickling spice
t Salt
2-3 cup of sugar( depends on how sweet you want it)
Apple Cider Vinegar
Direction:
Chop lettuce, Onion, Peppers and Jalapeno very fine. Mix together in large bowl. Let excessive juice drain. While juice is draining place your Apple cider Vinegar, salt, sugar and Pickling Spices( bagged) on stove. Let come to boil then add Tomatoes, lettuce, Onion and Peppers. Cook for 10-15 minutes. Sterilize canning jars add hot cha cha in jars and seal. It is not necessary to refrigerate until you open jar.
You can enjoy on any type of vegetables
